As leading luxury architectural ironmongers, our BrassArt products are available in any of our finishes.
All finishes for our brass hardware are either electroplated or living finishes (lacquered, waxed or un-lacquered).
We also now offer a range of ‘Inlay’ products using authentic shell or faux leathers.
Electroplating is used for both decorative and practical purposes. It is a finishing process whereby a thin layer of metal coats a substrate, in our case brass. The functional benefits of plating are protection of the base metal and corrosion resistance.
We offer a variety of electroplated finishes, allowing flexibility to suit the theme and colour scheme of any project.
Part of our luxury architectural hardware includes living brass finishes. Colour and texture variation is inherent in the creation of these hand finished patinas. Once installed, touch, time and environment should lead to gradual wear and oxidisation, lending character and elegance. This is part of their charm.
NB. Products finished with living finishes, by their very nature, may vary if ordered on separate occasions. Please see our Warranty page for more information on the lifetime of finishes.
We have created a range of inlay pulls in various standard shapes and sizes. All of them can be finished in your chosen patina as well as your selected inlay.
Our standard inlay choices are: faux Shagreen, Rhino or Crocodile skin. Alternatively, direct from the oceans of New Zealand, you can choose White Mother of Pearl or New Zealand Abalone Paua Shell. To order, please select your product, size and then inlay.
