Adam

The Neoclassical ‘Adam’ Collection

Robert Adam, born in Early Georgian Scotland in 1728, was a Scottish neoclassical architect, interior designer and furniture designer. He was the son of William Adam (1689–1748), the country’s foremost architect of the time, and trained under him. With his older brother John, Robert took on the family business which included lucrative work for the Board of Ordnance, after William’s death. Robert Adam was greatly influenced by his grand tour of Italy in 1755. The Brassart Adam range was created to reflect the magnificent neo-classical interiors that he became renowned for. The unique surface features and motifs along with the distinctive edge details set this range apart from its contempories in the period.
